Design Philosophy.
My goal as a kitchen and bath designer is to help you rediscover your home’s true elegance with well-planned designs and creative layouts. I will guide you through each step, creating the ideal plan for your space and educating you on the latest products and materials. Together we can seamlessly merge existing spaces with new ones and create a look and feel that will transform your home into a sanctuary. From simple to extravagant: beauty can be found on any budget.
I have spent the last 25 years designing remodels for kitchens and baths for homes in the East Bay and each project has been uniquely rewarding. Whether you are seeking aesthetic changes or an overall remodel, I am here to help you materialize your ideas into the space you’ve always wanted.
How Can a Remodel Feel New Without Looking Out of Place in Your Home?
A successful remodel should improve the way a space looks and functions without making it feel disconnected from the rest of the home. Creating that balance starts by considering the home’s existing architecture, proportions, finishes, and overall character before introducing new design elements.
Rather than selecting every new material independently, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, fixtures, lighting, and other finishes can be coordinated with features that will remain. This doesn’t mean everything has to match. Thoughtful transitions in color, texture, scale, and materials can help old and new spaces feel intentionally connected.
Julie Miller Designs emphasizes seamlessly merging existing spaces with newly remodeled areas to create one cohesive design. The process combines space planning, material and product knowledge, and personalized design around each homeowner’s needs.
The goal is for the remodeled room to feel refreshed and distinctive while still looking like it naturally belongs within the home.
